The Mule Trader is a brick and mortar store in downtown
Union, Oregon. The building was built in 1920 and has
been a butcher shop, a restaurant, a crystal making
business and now a place where you can find what you're
looking for.
My passion if the outdoors. I love to hunt, camp and just
about anything that gets me out in the woods.
I'm lucky, because I get to design my business around my
interests. I started out buying and selling guns and
sporting goods. Then, people started bringing in
everything from art to motor vehicles to trade for guns and
sporting goods.
Now I have a gun, coin, sporting goods and second hand
shop. I don't deal in junk and we don't pretend to be
experts on collectible items. I'm just a simple guy sharing
what I've got with my customers.
Local craftsmen saw what I was doing and asked if I could
take their items on consignment. There's a lot of talent in
a little town like Union, and our local artists make some
amazing things that you can't just get anywhere. I decided
to expand the business and offer folks outside the Grande
Ronde Valley a chance to share in our local treasures.
